LBPD Explorer Program #295
Long Beach Police Explorer Program
Inspiring the Next Generation of Leaders
The Long Beach Police Explorer Program provides young men and women, ages 14–20, with a unique opportunity to explore careers in law enforcement while developing valuable life skills, building confidence, and making a positive impact in their community.
Designed for motivated, service-oriented youth, the program offers hands-on learning experiences, mentorship, and exposure to the many responsibilities of law enforcement. Through weekly meetings and structured training, Explorers gain insight into police operations, public safety, teamwork, and the importance of serving others.
Beyond their training, Explorers actively participate in community outreach events, assist with police-supported programs, and represent Long Beach in regional Explorer competitions. These experiences encourage personal growth, strengthen leadership and communication skills, and foster a sense of responsibility, discipline, and civic pride.
More than an introduction to law enforcement, the Explorer Program is an investment in the next generation of community leaders.
